What Happens After a Rideshare Accident?

Rideshare incidents add one layer most collisions do not have: a digital record of the trip held inside an app.

Save the app record first

• Screenshot the trip detail screen, including date, time, and route.
• Save the emailed trip receipt.
• Note the driver's first name and vehicle as shown in the app.
• Report the incident through the app so a support record exists.

Then document the scene normally

• Photos of all vehicles, plates, and the roadway
• Contact and insurance details for every driver involved
• Witness names and phone numbers
• Report or incident number, if one was created

Why it matters who was on the trip

Rideshare situations often turn on whether the driver was actively carrying a passenger, waiting for a request, or offline. That is a factual detail worth recording, not something we evaluate here.
